Shocking! Sensation of 9 people committing suicide in Sangli

Sangli: A heart-wrenching incident of mass suicide by a family of 9 has taken place at Mahisal in Miraj Tawukya. A number of brothers have ended their lives by drinking poison at the same time along with their mother, wife and children. The type of mass suicide in Mahisal was heart wrenching. The door of veterinary doctor Manik Vanmore’s house at Ambika Chowk on Narwad Road was not opened till late in the morning. So the neighbors knocked on the door. But there was no response from within. Neighbors then broke down the door and entered the house out of suspicion. But then a very shocking incident happened. The bodies of six people were found lying in different places. As the incident spread like wildfire, another shocking event unfolded. Manik Vanamore’s brother, Popat Vanamore, also committed suicide with his family at his house near Rajdhani Hotel.

Manik Vanmore is a veterinarian who is well known in and around Mahisal village. Popat Vanmore was working as a teacher in Rayat Shikshan Sanstha. Manik and More had a son and a daughter, a wife and a mother. Teacher brother Popat Vanmore also had a family of one son and one daughter and wife. The two families were living separately in the village. The houses of the two brothers were at a distance of one to one and a half kilometers. Both the children of Manik Vanmore, a doctor, were studying. Archana, daughter of Popat Vanmore, was working as a librarian at Bank of India’s Bachani branch at Kagal in Kolhapur district. So the boy was studying. Archana was called home by Parrot Vanmore on Monday. She had reached home in the evening. Around midnight, both the families committed suicide by consuming poison. Shubham Vanamore, son of Popat Vanamore, was found dead in the kitchen room of his uncle Manik Pawar’s house.

After this incident, a huge crowd of relatives and citizens had gathered in front of the house of Mayat Vanmore family in Mahisal village. Upon receiving the information, the entire police team including the Superintendent of Police rushed to the spot. Seeing the seriousness of the incident, police help was deployed in the village. Kolhapur Special Inspector General of Police Manoj Lohia also rushed to the spot.
