GST Rate Hike: Pressure on common man’s pocket from today; More money to pay for food, hospital treatment!

New Delhi : Common people are already suffering due to inflation. Inflation is going to increase from today. Many essential items are going to become expensive from today due to which there will be a strain on the common man’s pocket. Because the GST increased by the Central Government will be added from today. GST will be implemented from today. Hence, from food items, hospital treatment, travel, essential items will become expensive.
The 47th GST Council Meeting was held on June 28-29. The GST Council decided to increase the GST on many items used by the common man. It has also decided to remove the GST exemption available for many items. So there are some items on which it has been decided to increase the GST rate. The central government’s decision to increase the GST rate will be implemented from today.
Hospital treatment will be expensive –
Hospital treatment will be expensive from today. If the hospital provides a room at a rate of more than 5 thousand rupees, GST will have to be paid on that room at the rate of 5 percent.
Food will be expensive –
Products such as tetra packed and labeled (except frozen) fish, curd, paneer, lassi, honey, dry makhana, dry soybeans, peas, wheat, flour, other cereals and rice will now attract 5% GST. Till now these goods were exempted from GST.
Children’s education will be expensive –
Children’s education will become expensive from today. Materials related to children’s education are going to be expensive. The GST Council has increased the GST rate on printing-drawing inks, pencil sharpeners, LED lamps, drawing and marking products, knives, paper-cutting knives. 18 percent GST has to be paid on these items.

Pay more for hotel room –
Henceforth you will have to pay more money to stay in the hotel. Earlier, there was no GST on hotel rooms priced below Rs 1,000. But inside 12 percent GST has to be paid.
