Dombivli: A man was brutally murdered and dumped at a railway station west of Dombivli. The murder took place on Sunday night (June 12) and the type of murder was revealed on Monday (June 13) afternoon after the area started smelling bad. After this, a case was registered against an unknown person at Vishnunagar police station. The deceased was a minor and did not have a mobile phone or any identity card. So the police had no evidence to find the accused. However, the police have formed various squads and traced the accused within 12 hours using technical methods and CCTV. The accused, identified as Arjun More (39), has admitted that he committed the murder under the influence of alcohol.
The only commotion in the city was yesterday when the body of an unidentified Isma was found on the railway ground west of Dombivli. Around noon, some citizens noticed the body and informed the police. Police rushed to the spot and took the body into custody and later sent it for autopsy. Meanwhile, the police had expressed suspicion that the deceased was killed after being hit on the head. Dombivali Vishnunagar police inspected the spot and filed a case against an unknown person. However, as the deceased was a beggar, he did not have a mobile phone or any identity card. So the police had no evidence to find the accused.
Police formed various squads and started investigation. During the same investigation, they found two hats at the spot. To find out who owns the hats, the police checked the CCTV on the street and, with some technical means, traced a person. The man became a witness and informed the police about the incident. Police immediately picked up the accused from Bhagshala Maidan on the basis of other CCTV footage. The accused is identified as Arjun More (39), a laborer. Meanwhile, the accused confessed to the murder due to an argument under the influence of alcohol. Police have arrested the accused and he will be produced in court. The name of the deceased is yet to be ascertained and we are searching for him, said Dombivli ACP Sunil Kurade.
What exactly happened?
The deceased, accused Arjun More and witnesses used to sit on the railway tracks drinking alcohol. From that, they got to know each other. Even on Sunday night, he was sitting on the ground drinking. After getting a free meal, he drank more and there was an argument between the deceased and the accused Arjun. At that moment, Arjuna hit the man on the head with a wooden plank and he died on the spot.
