‘Some gossip about tobacco, then the Central Investigation Agency takes action’

Mumbai: Some people are saying that action will be taken against Amakya, action will be taken against Tamakya. Action is then taken by the Central Investigation Agency. There should be no interference in the operations of the Central Investigation Agency. There is no one for transparent investigation, said Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Ajit Pawar made this statement against the backdrop of action taken by ED against Shiv Sena leader Anil Parab. He was speaking at a press conference in Mumbai on Thursday.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) acts with the powers vested in them. We have seen action taken by income tax, CBI and ED against many in the state. My relatives have also been raided by the Income Tax Department. Central agencies have the power to investigate. But it remains to be seen on what basis the action will be taken. Ajit Pawar said that there was a reasonable expectation that the Central Investigation Agency should not abuse their powers.

ED raids on properties belonging to Anil Parab

The ED had on Thursday morning raided properties belonging to Shiv Sena leader Anil Parab. It also includes the official residence of Anil Parab and his house in Bandra. A team of ED officers arrived at the Shivalaya bungalow this morning with a contingent of CRPF personnel. In particular, the ED has filed a case of money laundering against Anil Parab. No case has been registered against the person concerned by the ED without any concrete evidence. Therefore, it is being speculated that the ED may have got solid evidence against Anil Parab.
