Research, planning and maintenance required for India to become a superpower – Padma Shri Leela Poonawala

In order for India to become a world power, it needs to increase its participation in engineering in the fields of agriculture, education and health. There should also be research in various branches of engineering that can be used for a long time, to benefit more citizens at a lower cost. Padma Shri Leela Poonawala expressed the view that it should be well managed and maintained. The prize giving ceremony of “KPIT Sparkle 2022” competition organized by Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust (PCET) in association with Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering (PCCOE) and KPIT was held on Sunday (March 27) at the hands of Padma Shri Leela Poonawala. On this occasion, the Chief Innovation Officer of the Union Ministry of Education, Dr. Abhay Jere, Ravi Pandit of KPIT, Anup Sable, Executive Director of PCET Dr. Dr. Girish Desai, Deputy Director, PCCOE Nilkanth Chopde etc. were present.

PCET President Dnyaneshwar Landage, Vice President Padmathai Bhosale, Secretary Vitthal Kalbhor, Treasurer Shantaram Garade, Trustee Harshvardhan Patil, Executive Director Dr. Dr. Girish Desai, Director, PCCOE Dr. Govind Kulkarni, Deputy Director It was organized under the guidance of Nilkanth Chopde. The tournament is being held as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PCCOE and KPIT for the last four years. In this competition, 1300 teams of 15000 students from 800 engineering colleges from all over the country presented their concepts, out of which 24 teams had made it to the finals. Tim Elespa won Rs 10 lakh, Tim Kisan Connect Rs 5 lakh, Tim Electrophene Rs 25 lakh, Tim Unanimus Rs 4-2 lakh and Tim Dravya Rs 10 lakh.

In the judging panel of this national competition, A.S. Ravi Kumar, Dr. Milind Rane, Dr. D. Mohanlal, Balakrishna Mahajan, Dr. Siddharth Mukhopadhyay, Dr. Sanjeev Katti, Dr. Somnath Sengupta, Anupam Jalote, P.S. Kanan, Paul Sanjay, Poyani Bhatt, Sunil Motwani, Salim Huzefa, Anurag Pandey, Dipesh Gujarathi and Ratnakar Deshmukh.

  • The prize winning teams are as follows

1) Team Alespa – Dr. D.Y. It is a joint venture of Patil Institute of Technology, (Pune), Sandeep University, (Nashik), College of Engineering, (Pune) and Jayawantrao Sawant College of Engineering, (Pune). It has won a Platinum Award of Rs.

2) Team Kisan Connect – S.G. Team Kisan Connect of Balekundri Institute of Technology, Belgaum has won a Gold Award of Rs.

3) Team Electrophene – Team Electrophene from Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore has won a Silver Award of Rs.

4) Team Unimus 4 – Team Unimus 4 from Jayawantrao Sawant Engineering College, Pune has won the Innovative 1 Award and a cash prize of Rs.

5) Team Dravya – Team Dravya from Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering, Pune won two innovative awards and a cash prize of Rs.
