Relief for Pune residents, reduction in CNG price, how much rupees to pay per kg? Read on…

Pune : Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) has decided to reduce the price of CNG in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, Chakan Talegaon and Hinjewadi areas by four rupees from Tuesday midnight. So now in Pune, motorists will have to pay 87 rupees for one kg of CNG. CNG rates have come down by four rupees, bringing some relief to motorists.

The demand for CNG gas is increasing. But, due to shortage of local gas and expensive imported gas, CNG prices were continuously increasing. The price of CNG has been increasing since April 1. A few days ago, CNG prices were increased by six rupees. So CNG went to Rs.91. But, now MNGL has decided to reduce the price of CNG by four rupees. So the drivers have to pay 87 rupees for one kg now.

The reduction in CNG prices has brought some relief to motorists. Drivers are demanding further reduction in CNG rates.

CNG price cut in Mumbai too

Mahanagar Gas Limited has reduced the price of CNG by Rs 6 per kg and PNG by Rs 4 per SCM (cubic metre). According to the new rates, CNG will be available in Mumbai at Rs 80 and PNG (piped natural gas) used for domestic cooking at Rs 48.50 per kg. These rates will be effective from August 17. The company has claimed that the current rates are 48 percent cheaper than petrol. The company also claims that PNG is 18 percent cheaper than LPG.
