In a moot court competition, two teams, namely the defendants and respondents, engage in lively debates on fictional legal issues. This rigorous training cultivates skills such as research proficiency and eloquent public speaking. Mooting stands apart from public speaking and debate by encouraging audience participation through cross-questioning and spirited arguments. Since its inception in India in 1981, mooting has evolved into a crucial tool for training effective advocates and educating future solicitors.
