Mumbai: Opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis’s clever play won all the three BJP candidates in the Rajya Sabha. Despite not having the required number, Fadnavis performed a miracle. Discussions started in the BJP faction that Fadnavis would perform similar miracles in the Rajya Sabha as well as in the Legislative Council elections. As scheduled, the BJP fielded the official five and the sixth BJP-sponsored candidate in the form of Sadabhau Khot. But in three days many things happened. On the last day of withdrawal, Sadabhau withdrew his candidature as per the order of BJP leadership. After his return, there is a lot of discussion about the next political course. Legislative Council elections will be held on June 20. 11 candidates are in the fray for 10 seats. 5 candidates of BJP and 6 candidates of Mahavikas Aghadi are in the fray. Earlier, on the day of withdrawal of nominations, BJP sponsored Sadabhau Khot and NCP candidate Shivajirao Garje withdrew their nomination papers.
