Even though the portfolio distribution has been done in Maharashtra, there are still several ministers who have not yet taken charge of their positions. In this context, Dattatray Bharne provided an explanation for why he has not taken charge yet.

Pune | It’s been almost a month since the grand alliance government was formed in the state. The cabinet has been expanded, and the portfolios have been allocated. However, there is still suspense regarding the appointment of the Guardian Minister. When it comes to Pune, there is speculation that some leaders in the grand alliance are upset about not receiving ministerial positions. Despite the allocation of portfolios, some ministers have yet to take charge of their posts.

Meanwhile, NCP leader and Minister Dattatray Bharne made a significant claim, stating that Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will be the Guardian Minister for Pune district. A few days ago, BJP leader and Minister Chandrakant Patil also commented on the position of Guardian Minister for Pune. Thus, the struggle for the Guardian Minister position within the grand alliance continues.

Reason for Not Taking Charge of Ministerial Position
When Dattatray Bharne was asked why he has not yet taken charge of his ministerial position, and whether he was unhappy or upset, he replied that he had been abroad. He added that he will be going to Mumbai next week and that there is no truth in the claims of his dissatisfaction or anger.

Bharne stated that he will take charge of his position next week and emphasized that under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, they are working together to lead the state forward effectively. When asked about Pune’s Guardian Minister, Bharne said that no matter what anyone says, Ajit Pawar will be the Guardian Minister for Pune.

Bharne further added that there is nothing unusual about the position of Guardian Minister for Pune. Everything will be decided as per expectations, and the Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, will make the appropriate decision. He expressed confidence in the process.

Tug of War Over the Guardian Minister Position
The state is being led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, whose success in the elections has been unprecedented. Leaders from the BJP, Shiv Sena, and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), all part of the grand alliance, are seeking the position of Guardian Minister for their respective districts. However, there are claims from both BJP and NCP for some districts. In some areas, leaders from all three parties in the grand alliance are staking their claims. Therefore, discussions are ongoing about the difficulty in appointing a Guardian Minister. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is vying for the position in Pune district. Meanwhile, BJP’s Chandrakant Patil has indirectly asserted his claim to the position, saying that the decision will be made by the party’s leadership.
