Who is the Congress candidate for Rajya Sabha?

Mumbai : The name of the official Congress candidate for a Rajya Sabha seat has not been decided yet. With the deadline for filing nominations approaching, the party is discussing whether the leader from outside the state will get the candidature from the state leadership to enhance the party organization. Some also say that the late decision has sent a wrong message to the party workers.

Former Union Minister P.S. Chidambaram’s name is being discussed and has not been sealed yet. For this, the names of Congress leaders Mukul Wasnik and Avinash Pandey are also being taken. But it is not possible to predict what will happen in Mumbai and Delhi, a Congress leader said privately. The extent to which Congress MPs elected to the Rajya Sabha from the state so far have worked for the growth of the party is a matter of research. Recently, Marathwada Congress leader Rajnitai Patil has been elected to the Rajya Sabha. However, one of the party leaders said that his contribution to the political affairs of the state and the growth of the party was not visible. Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut and Sanjay Pawar have filed their nomination papers, while NCP’s Praful Patel will file his nomination papers on Monday. The BJP has not yet announced its official candidate for the elections, but the names are likely to be announced today, Sunday.
