‘Rajpath’ in Delhi will now be renamed as ‘Kartavyapath’; The proposal to change the name was approved in the NDMC meeting

The central government has decided to change the name of ‘Rajpath’. The entire area known as ‘Rajpath’ till now will be known as ‘Kartavyapath’. It was informed that along with ‘Rajpath’, it has been decided to change the name of Central Vista Lawn. A special meeting of NDMC was held on Wednesday, September 7 to seal the decision in this regard. This proposal was approved in this meeting. The entire route from Netaji Statue to Rashtrapati Bhavan will now be ‘Kartavyapath’. This decision was taken by the central government on Monday on the occasion of Teacher’s Day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this next phase of the Central Vista project on September 8.

‘Central Vista Avenue’ which is the new center of attraction for people coming to Delhi is all set for tourists. The Central Vista redevelopment project includes a new triangular Parliament building, a common Central Secretariat, the revitalization of three kilometers of Rajpath, a new Prime Minister’s residence and offices, and the Vice President’s House.

The attraction of food stalls
The central vista avenue from Vijay Chowk to India Gate along the Rajpath has food stalls from every state and is lined with red granite walkways surrounded by greenery. Five vending zones have been created at the Central Vista project site where 40 stalls will be allowed. There are two blocks near India Gate and each block will have eight shops. However, selling and eating of any food will be prohibited in the park premises.

Emphasis on strict security
Round-the-clock security will be deployed after the project opens to the general public. A heavy police and security presence will be kept in the newly established facilities to prevent theft and damage. Officials said that around 80 security guards will be keeping an eye on the route. Also, the help of other systems will be taken to be careful from terrorist attacks. All the premises will also be monitored by CCTV cameras.
