Rabbit hunters caught by police, 5 arrested

Sangli: A gang of wildlife hunters has been arrested by the Chandoli Forest Department from Khotwadi in Shirala. The forest department has arrested five people who were passing by after hunting pisora ​​(gela) and rabbits. So, 2 people have succeeded in passing. Three guns and 13 live cartridges along with four dead animals were seized from the gang.

A team of forest department has caught a group of hunters who came to Mandlai plateau area at Khotwadi in Shirala taluka for hunting. So, this time the two have become fugitives. Two pissoras, two rabbits, four dead animals, three guns and 13 live cartridges were seized from them. The arrested suspects are identified as Praveen Borge, Bajirao Borge, Maruti Ware, Sanjay Bhosale and Ramchandra Borge (all residents of Shahuwadi, Kolhapur district).

The Forest Department team had received information that some people had gone hunting in the Mandlai Plateau area. Accordingly, Mandlai patrolled the plateau between Khotwadi and Kumbharwadi. During the night, the hunters hunted with 2 pistols and 2 rabbits. As soon as the sound of gunfire came, a team from the forest department quickly searched and caught the hunter gang. This time 5 hunters were caught in their hands. 2 managed to escape.
