After Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari showed a basket of vegetables to the names of the 12 MLAs appointed by the Governor given by the Thackeray government, now the Shinde-Fadnavis government has prepared to send twelve new names to the Governor. They have agreed on this. The Mahavikas Aghadi government had given a list of 12 persons for the MLAs appointed by the Governor. However, the governor did not approve it till the end. Even after Uddhav Thackeray resigned as Chief Minister, he challenged the Governor over the issue of 12 MLAs.
Considering the strength of MLAs, BJP is likely to get 8 out of 12 seats and Shinde Group 4 seats. Now the big question of who should be given a chance among these 12 names is before Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. As soon as the Shinde government comes to power in the state, all the political equations are changing. Discussions have started that intense lobbying is going on between the Shinde group and the BJP for the 12 MLAs appointed by the Governor. It cannot be ruled out that the people who lost in the assembly elections in the last election and who came to the party with faith in Shinde and Fadnavis will get more opportunities. Many people are lobbying even after the term of Legislative Council is over.
