Ashadhi Wari Palkhi Procession Route Inspected by Additional Commissioner Vijaykumar Khorate

Pimpri chinchwad | The Palkhi (palanquin) procession of Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj will arrive in Pimpri-Chinchwad city on June 19, while the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi will enter the city on June 20. The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is fully prepared to welcome the procession. Preparations for facilities along the palkhi route, at the halting locations, and for the provision of amenities for the Warkaris (pilgrims) are in their final stage, informed Additional Commissioner Vijaykumar Khorate.
Additional Commissioner Khorate conducted an inspection of the Ashadhi Wari Palkhi Sohala Reception Center, the halting site, and the route of the palkhi procession. He was accompanied by Co-City Engineers Bapu Gaikwad and Devanna Gattuwar, Deputy Commissioner of the Health Department Sachin Pawar, Assistant Commissioner of the Garden Department Umesh Dhakne, Chief Security Officer Uday Jarande, Chief Disaster Management Officer Omprakash Bahival, Health Executive Officer Ganesh Deshpande, as well as officers, executive engineers, deputy engineers, and staff from the relevant departments.
During the inspection, Additional Commissioner Khorate emphasized, “All departments must ensure that there is no shortfall in the services and facilities provided for the Ashadhi Wari Palkhi procession by the Municipal Corporation. Coordination among departments is essential for the planning and provision of amenities to the Warkaris. Adequate arrangements should be made at the halting sites. The disaster management machinery should be kept ready considering the monsoon season. Drinking water, emergency medical facilities, accommodation for the Warkaris, and a sufficient number of mobile toilets along the route must be ensured.”
To welcome the Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi procession, the Municipal Corporation is setting up a reception center at Bhakti Shakti in Nigdi. During the inspection, Additional Commissioner Khorate reviewed the arrangements being made at this location. He also directed the concerned officials to ensure that rainwater does not accumulate anywhere along the palkhi route.
