Lok Samvad: ‘Correct program’ of Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash from NCP leaders?

Pimpri: Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Aryanman Krishna Prakash was abruptly transferred. In fact, the premature transfer was even more surprising. Krishna Prakash, who regularly attends the programs of social organizations in the city along with the media, remained in constant discussion as the Commissioner of Police. It has to be said that Krishpan Prakash, who is known all over the state as a Jabaz officer who works principledly under political pressure, did not consider Pimpri-Chinchwad as water.

It is generally accepted that there is political interference in the appointment and transfer of senior police officers. However, Mahavikas Aghadi came to power in the state in 2019. It is rumored that the decision makers of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress, who are partners in power, are involved in the transfer case. In fact, the GR (Government Order) for the promotion of 5 officers, which was published yesterday, was issued. Just a few hours later, the state government was embarrassed to cancel the promotion GR.
According to sources in the ministry, Shiv Sena ministers were not taken into confidence while promoting or transferring senior police officers. Therefore, it is being said that the concerned GR has been canceled due to resentment. The situation in Pimpri-Chinchwad is similar to the situation in the state cabinet.
In Pimpri-Chinchwad, however, Krishna Prakash, who has the ability and courage to face any challenge in the face of political pressure and interference, was seen playing a somewhat cautious role. He took over as Commissioner in September 2020. At that time, a lively discussion started in the political circles of the city. Krishna Prakash was appointed by the ruling Mahavikas Aghadi or even the NCP’s ‘special plan’ in the state. Similar allegations have been made by local BJP office bearers. Behind it were Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal elections and the equation of power. The then ruling BJP office bearers in the municipal corporation and two BJP MLAs namely Laxman Jagtap and Mahesh Landage were given the responsibility of making ‘special arrangements’. However, during the tenure of 19 months, not a single ‘black act’ of BJP MLAs came to light.
Meanwhile, MLA’s son Siddharth was arrested in connection with the shooting of NCP MLA Anna Bansode in Pimpri Assembly constituency and assault on the accused. Arresting the MLA’s son, despite being a ruling party MLA in the state, was not easy. However, the ‘dutiful’ commissioner did it. Also, in another case involving NCP corporator Sulakshana Shilwant Dhar, Krishna Prakash followed the law. Krishna Prakash continued to work without succumbing to the pressure of the state government. Therefore, it is said that they had to face action like premature transfer.
On the other hand, Krishna Prakash, who was easily available to the media and took advantage of the action taken for publicity, came to the notice of the Home Ministry. State Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil has been heard expressing displeasure over the actions of disguise and throwing trees at the accused.
Avantaravi Shindeshahi to curb crime.
On 15th August 2018, an independent Police Commissionerate was set up for Pimpri-Chinchwad city and its environs by dividing Pune city and rural police force. All the three previous commissioners appointed to the city since then have not been able to complete their term of at least two years. The then state government has replaced the previous three commissioners for various reasons. The Mahavikas Aghadi government demoted Additional Commissioner General of Police to the post of Special Inspector General. Krishna Prakash was appointed as the Commissioner 18 months ago in September 2020. Commissioner Krishna Prakash took many initiatives implementing pro-people decisions. He never succumbed to any political pressure. After Krishna Prakash, now newly appointed Commissioner of Police Ankush Shinde has been appointed. Pimpri-Chinchwadkars hope that peace and order will prevail in Pimpri-Chinchwad, not just for political ends, but to curb crime.
