128 Properties Seized by the Property Tax Collection Department in Two Days!

Sudden Property Seizure Action on Saturday and Sunday

Pimpri Chinchwad | The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Tax Assessment and Tax Collection Department has issued orders to prioritize the seizure of non-residential, industrial, and mixed properties with arrears exceeding three lakh. Accordingly, the department carried out an aggressive seizure drive on Saturday, December 28, and Sunday, December 29. On Saturday, 65 properties were seized, and on Sunday, seizure actions were taken on 63 properties. In response to this drive by the Tax Collection Department, and to prevent their properties from being seized, 139 property owners paid a total of 2 crore 91 lakh 13 thousand 770 on Saturday, and 89 property owners paid 1 crore 80 lakh 24 thousand 13 on Sunday, amounting to a total of 4 crore 71 lakh 37 thousand 783 in property tax. This campaign will continue uninterrupted until January 7, and no non-residential, industrial, or mixed property with arrears exceeding one lakh will be excluded from the seizure action.

The city’s aware citizens have consistently contributed to the city’s development by paying taxes. The municipal corporation has provided various concessions in property taxes, and citizens have taken advantage of these benefits. Now, property owners with arrears should pay their taxes to avoid the harsh action of property seizure.

The municipal corporation has repeatedly called on citizens through various means to pay their taxes. Notices of property seizure have also been sent to citizens who have not yet paid their taxes, informing them that their properties are liable for seizure. However, for those property owners who still have not paid their taxes, an aggressive property seizure campaign has been initiated. Citizens are urged to pay their outstanding taxes immediately to avoid the seizure action.

The seizure campaign carried out on Saturday and Sunday will continue in an intensified manner until January 7. The primary focus will be on the seizure of properties with more than ₹1 lakh in outstanding dues, specifically targeting 100% non-residential, industrial, and mixed-use properties. No property will be excluded from this action. The Tax Collection Department will prioritize the recovery and seizure campaign over other work, and will focus on collecting dues from defaulters. Therefore, defaulters are urged to pay their taxes online immediately to avoid property seizure actions. Furthermore, post-dated checks will not be accepted under any circumstances during the seizure process.
