Vidyanand Bhavan High School shines at the National Level

Pimpri : In the National Science Seminar “Millets – A Super food or a diet fad? organized by National Council of Science Museums, Shreyas Mallikarjun Udagi, student of Std. X of Vidyanand Bhavan High School, Nigdi bagged the 3rd prize and proved his mettle at the National level. This seminar was held at National Science Centre, Delhi recently with the motto for creating awareness about the consumption of millets in the society.

The seminar, which aimed to foster scientific curiosity and critical thinking among the youth, featured a series of activities including exhibitions, PPT and paper chart presentations, viva aptitude tests, and written aptitude tests. The students showcased their knowledge and insights into the potential of millets as a super food, and whether the current trend is just a passing diet fad.

Shreyas Udagi was awarded trophy, certificate, book-set and scholarship at the hands of the Chief Guest of CSIR-National Physical Laboratory Prof. (Dr) Venu Gopal Achanta and the Millet Man of India Dr. Khader Vali. The school’s science teacher Mrs. Smita Kasar and the Agricultural Officer, Pune Dr. Gajanan Narkar guided Shreyas Udagi throughout the seminar. The participants were from all states and Union territories of India and Shreyas Udagi from Vidyanand Bhavan High School, Nigdi was representing Maharashtra.

Satchidanand Education Society’s Chairman Dr. Bharat Chavan Patil felicitated Shreyas Udagi and Mrs. Smita Kasar for bringing laurels to the school. On this occasion, Trustee Mrs. Supriya Chavan Patil, Mrs. Shweta Bharat Chavan Patil, Prof. D.R. Karnure, Advisor Mrs. Chhaya Habbu, Principal of Secondary Section, VBHS Mr. Syril Jagan, Principal of Primary Section Mrs. Kshitija Misal, Supervisors Mrs. Manisha Surve, Mrs. Jayshree Pawar and Mrs. Archana Banawali were present to grace the occasion.
