Nagpur: Desi Liquor used to be available in the same form. However, now the state excise department is fighting for revenue. It has been decided to make the liquor available in four variants and a notification has been issued in this regard. Under this, colored and colorless liquor will soon be available in the market, the state excise department said. (now the desi liquor will be available in four variants)
The State Government has amended the Maharashtra Indigenous Rules 1973. According to the revised rules, it will be called ‘Maharashtra Deshi Wine Third Amendment Rules 2022’. Revenue will also be collected according to the type of alcohol. The first type will be charged Rs 10 per proof liter, the second Rs 155, the third Rs 180 and the fourth Rs 250. Earlier, a proof liter was being charged a total of Rs 155.
