Now ‘No Reference policy’ in Government Hospitals in Maharashtra

Says Hon. Health Minister Dr. Tanaji Sawant @inauguration ceremony of Atal Mahaarogya free camp

Pune : Government hospitals in Maharashtra definitely provide quality treatment. The quality of doctors working there is better than private hospitals. Therefore, no specialist doctor in government hospitals will refer patients to private hospitals. A policy decision has been taken regarding this ‘No Reference policy’ and it will be strictly implemented. Action will be taken against any doctor referring patients in such manner. Hon. Health Minister of the state, Dr. Tanaji Sawant informed that the state government is determined to provide complete treatment to the patients at the same place.

On the occasion of the first death anniversary of People’s Leader MLA of Pimpri-Chinchwad City Laxman Jagtap, BJP City President Shankar Jagtap has organized “Atal Mahaarogya Free Camp”. It was inaugurated by Health Minister Dr. Tanaji Sawant.

MP Srirang Barane, MLA Ashwini Jagtap, former Mayor Mai Dhore, former deputy Mayor Jamabai Barane, Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Charity Commissioner Mahendra Mahajan, Joint Director of National Health Mission Radhakishan Pawar, District Surgeon Nagnath Yepalle, Municipal Medical Officer Dr. Laxman Gofane, District Health Officer Sachin Desai attended the occasion.

MP Srirang Barne said that Maharashtra has the highest number of cancer patients. The reason is impure water supply. Therefore, there is a need for the municipal administration to set up a water treatment plant for water supply and river conservation. Through the Atal Mahaarogya camp, many families have got some relief. This is a real tribute to late Laxman Jagtap.

Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh said that treatment facilities will be provided for disabled persons throughout the year. The schemes of Central Government and State Government have been implemented. ‘Jijau Clinics’ have been started. More than 1 thousand 500 medical personnel are working for civil health in the city. Eminent government and private hospitals have participated in the camp. Municipal hospitals like Bhosari, Akurdi and Jijamata Hospital should be included in Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana to benefit maximum patients. We are spending more than 10 percent of the municipal administration’s total budget on health. Cancer Hospital will be set up at Thergaon on the basis of PPP principle.

Health camp dedicated to Laxmanbhau: MLA Ashwini Jagtap

MLA Ashwini Jagtap said that Laxman Jagtap had started Atal Mahaarogya free camp 9 years ago to take necessary preventive steps before it’s too late. We have helped thousands of people during covid. We are dedicating this health camp to people’s leader Laxmanbhau Jagtap.

Free treatment for any citizen of Maharashtra: City President Shankar Jagtap

BJP City President Shankar Jagtap said that for last 9 years, at least one and a half to two lakh patients are examined every year with their health follow up throughout the year. Last year, 156 people underwent angiography. Among them, 76 people were given free angioplasty along with free Jaipur Foot, Eyeglasses, Ear-Nose-Throat check-up and free check-up and treatment for most ailments for the disabled. Last year 17 cancer patients were given free treatment in major hospitals. More than 150 hospitals and around 2 thousand doctors will work for the camp this year. This year free x-ray, sonography, around 160 types of blood tests will be done free. About 5 thousand people are planned to undergo dialysis. Any patient in Maharashtra will get free treatment.

Agricultural universities and research centers in Maharashtra should create awareness among farmers about natural farming. The use of chemical fertilizers has increased the sum of diseases like cancer. Gram Panchayat should not be thoroughly dependent on the administration but everyone including the Sarpanch should share this responsibility. Administration, government and people need to make concerted efforts to prevent water pollution, land pollution.
