Shivajinagar to Hinjewadi Metro project to be completed on priority: Information of Minister Deepak Kesarkar

Mumbai : Minister Deepak Kesarkar said in the Assembly today that a comprehensive meeting of all concerned will be called to find a solution to the traffic congestion in Pune city. He also said that the completion of Shivajinagar to Hinjewadi metro rail project will be done on priority. He gave this information while replying to an interesting suggestion raised in the Legislative Assembly.

Minister Kesarkar said that the length of the Shivaji Nagar to Hinjewadi Metro Rail Project is 23.3 km. The project is being built on the principle of Concept, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer. This work has started and the project duration is 40 months. The integrated flyover of this project is in progress. To avoid traffic congestion due to this work, one way, no parking, no halting zones, cycle track and footpaths have been removed and the roads have been widened.

The work of the bridge at Chandni Chowk on the Pune Mumbai highway will also be completed soon, said Minister Deepak Kesarkar while replying to a sub question asked by member Bhimrao Tapkir. Members Siddharth Shirole, Rahul Kul, Bhimrao Tapkir participated in the discussion.
