Sadabhau Khot’s sword sheath, Legislative Council’s application back at last minute

Mumbai: With just 5 minutes left to withdraw the application of the Legislative Council, Sadabhau Khot, who had filed his application as an independent with the support of BJP, has withdrawn his application. Sadabhau Khot said that he was withdrawing the application as per the order of Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis. After Khot’s withdrawal, now 5 official BJP candidates will be in the fray for the Legislative Council elections. BJP currently has 106 members and some independent MLAs are with them. In the Legislative Council, 27 first preference votes are required for each MLA to be elected. According to this calculation, the first 4 candidates of BJP will be easily elected. Prasad Lad, who is in fifth position, will have to get some votes. 108 votes will be required for four seats. Therefore, BJP will have to get another 27 votes to get Prasad Lad elected.

BJP will need more than 130 votes to win the fifth seat. In this, BJP will suffer a lot. Considering this situation, BJP forced Sadabhau Khot to withdraw his application. According to Fadnavis, Sadabhau Khot withdrew his application at 3 pm. Sadabhau Khot had filed the petition on June 9 with the support of BJP. According to Fadnavis, the application has been filled. Sadabhau Khot had said at that time that if he told us, we would withdraw.
