Rs 5 lakh assistance to heirs of those killed in Mumbai Kurla building accident – Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray

Mumbai: Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has expressed his condolences to the victims of the Kurla Building Collapse and their families. The Chief Minister’s Assistance Fund has announced Rs 5 lakh each to the heirs of the deceased in the accident. Also, the injured should be treated at the government’s expense, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has instructed. The Chief Minister has also instructed the agencies regarding the work of rescue teams and ancillary facilities. In particular, the injured should get immediate treatment and the families of the injured and the deceased should get the necessary facilities immediately.

  • Accident due to building collapse in Kurla East area, death toll rises to 17 so far

A four-storey building collapsed in the Kurla area. The four-storey building called Naik Nagar Society near Kurla Bus Depot collapsed around midnight. The death toll from the crash has risen to 17, but some people are still trapped under the rubble. Rescue operations are underway at the scene. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal said nine people have been released home after first aid. They have urged the fire brigade and NDRF to carry out search and rescue operations as some people are likely to be alive inside. The Municipal Corporation will conduct a detailed inquiry into the matter.

Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister Aditya Thackeray reached the spot at 2 am after getting information about the incident at night. This time he visited the victims. The rescue operation was carried out overnight by NDRF personnel in the Kurla building accident area. After getting information about this incident, Aditya Thackeray visited the building accident site in Kurla at 2 pm. At this time, interacting with the concerned officers and agencies, he directed to continue the relief and rescue work expeditiously.
