Record reservation of ST for Ganeshotsav; Provision of 100 buses for emergency situation

With only a week left for Ganeshotsav in the state, there has been a record reservation of STs for this festival. The reservation of 2,934 trains has been completed for this year’s festival and the reservation of 427 trains is currently underway. In the pre-coronavirus period i.e. on 2019, 2,130 buses were reserved. In 2020, 2021, due to the Corona effect, most of Mumbai’s servants could not go to their hometowns in Konkan for Gauri-Ganpati. This year, however, they have great enthusiasm. Compared to 2019, twelve hundred reserved bus trains have been added this year.

It has been decided to run a total of 3,361 trains from Pune, Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Palghar, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg. Out of these, 1912 buses have been booked by group and 1022 buses have been fully booked till August 22 (onward). ST Corporation informed that 854 trains have been reserved for returning from Konkan. Between Kurla and Sawantwadi, ST repair teams will be working at places like Konkan Bhawan, Wakan Phata, Lonere Phata, Kashedi, Sangameshwar, Tarada. Status of Mumbai-Goa Highway There are instructions to keep 10 spare tires ready at each location in depots and stations.

Five officers have been appointed from the respective regions to ensure that ST traffic during Ganeshotsav runs smoothly. One divisional officer, one six. These officers include a traffic superintendent, a traffic inspector and two traffic controllers. He will have the main task of checking that the driver has not drunk. It has been said by the corporation that this officer will ensure that the trains running on the route will reach their destination in good condition. Occasional heavy rains are falling all over the state. The Corporation has suggested that 100 buses should be kept in reserve as an alternative arrangement in case of an emergency due to landslides on the Konkan Railway or Central Railway lines.
