The tragic incident took place at Nandgaon near Latur on Saturday night. The name of the deceased worker is Baba Sheikh. Sheikh is a resident of Halangul and is survived by two children, a daughter, wife, parents and siblings. My husband was earning in my house. The wife of a deceased worker has asked me how I can live with my three children. When Baba Sheikh and two other workers came to Nandgaon to work on the power line, the village sarpanch Dhamale stopped them. So we were told to do this work by Lineman Holikar and Madam Gaikwad. However, after Sarpanch Dhamale told him to make sure that the power supply was off, Baba Sheikh called Lineman Holikar in front of him and assured him that the power supply was off.

He then climbed the pole and began work. While he was working, the power supply was cut off and Baba Sheikh received an electric shock. Then it collapsed. He fell on a spear that was used to support the pole. A spear penetrated their stomach. Sarpanch Dhamale and his associates immediately admitted Baba Sheikh to Vilasrao Deshmukh Government Medical College in Latur. However, doctors declared him dead. A sudden death has been reported at the MIDC police station in the case. However, the angry relatives of Baba Sheikh took an aggressive stance and demanded to file a case of culpable homicide against the concerned lineman Holikar and Madam Gaikwad. The case has not been registered yet and the relatives have alleged that the police are backing the accused. He has also taken a firm stand that we will not conduct the funeral unless the crime is noticed.
