Mahavikas government is in danger: Shiv Sena cabinet minister Eknath Shinde disappears with 13 MLAs

Mumbai: After it became clear that votes were split in the Legislative Council elections, huge unrest has spread in Shiv Sena. Also, with the disappearance of 13 MLAs along with Shiv Sena leader and Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde, it has become clear that Shiv Sena is on the verge of split. Eknath Shinde has gone to Gujarat with disgruntled MLAs from the party.

Along with Eknath Shinde, two other Shiv Sena ministers have also arrived in Gujarat. These include Minister of State for Home Affairs Shambhuraj Desai and Minister of State Abdul Sattar. Also, Balaji Kinikar, Sanjay Shirsat, Shantaram More, Mahendra Dalvi, Sanjay Raimulkar, Sanjay Gaikwad, Shahajibapu Patil and some MLAs from Nashik and Aurangabad districts have gone to Surat with Shinde.

It has come to light that the disgruntled Shiv Sena MLA along with Eknath Shinde is staying at the Meridian Hotel in Surat. Police security has been beefed up outside the hotel. Barricades have also been erected.

Meeting called by Uddhav Thackeray
BJP has managed to get around 20 votes out of Shiv Sena, Congress and Mahavikas Aghadi independent MLAs in the Assembly elections. Against this backdrop, after the night meeting held at the official residence of the Chief Minister Varsha, a meeting of MLAs has been called by Shiv Sena once again at 12 noon today. The party is trying to contact Eknath Shinde and his supportive MLAs for the meeting. However, all these MLAs are unlikely to attend the meeting in the afternoon.
