Lemons are expensive! In the summer, the price of lemon skyrocketed to Rs.

Dhule |

Lemon prices have skyrocketed in Dhule. This year, lemons have broken all previous records and the price has crossed 200. Due to adverse weather conditions and unseasonal rains, the arrival of lemons in the market has been declining since last month. The supply of lemons is declining compared to the demand of traders and one lemon is being sold at Rs. 10 in the retail market.

Due to the unseasonal rains in the last month, the lemon growers have been in big trouble. In the same place where the lemon growers used to buy 100 goni lemons, now 4 to 5 goni goods are leaving. Traders and retailers are also being hit by the fuel price hike. That is why the price of lemon has crossed Rs 200, said Pawan Shinde, a lemon retailer in Dhule.

Heavy fog in the cold affected fruit set. Lemon cultivation requires a lot of water in summer. If plenty of water is available, the planting is also good. However, the intense heat wave hit Limba. Also, due to unseasonal rains last month, only 4 to 5 sacks of lemons are leaving the orchard of 500 trees. Therefore, there has been a record increase in the number of lemons this year, said Shivdas Mahale, a lemon trader.
