Dussehra gathering is going on in Mumbai. The Shinde group has been given permission to field in BKC. So, the Thackeray group has been denied permission for the second ground in BKC. Both these groups are insisting on gathering at Shivtirtha and the information is coming out that efforts are being made in that regard. It is a tradition of Shiv Sena to hold Dussehra Mela at Dadar’s Shivaji Park. Balasaheb Thackeray started this tradition. Accordingly, even after him, Uddhav Thackeray is holding a regular Dussehra Mela. However, due to the split in the Shiv Sena this year, common citizens have wondered who will host the Dussehra gathering at Shivaji Park. Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena had applied to the Mumbai municipality for the Dussehra gathering. After that, the Shinde group also applied to hold a Dussehra gathering at Shivaji Park.
The municipality has not yet given permission to anyone, as there could be a law and order problem. Meanwhile, the Eknath Shinde group applied to the municipality to hold a Dussehra gathering at a ground in BKC. So, Thackeray applied for the second ground. However, this time the Shinde group’s application has been accepted and Thackeray’s application has been rejected. As the ground for which Thackeray has applied is already reserved
Eknath Shinde has got seat in BKC on first come first served basis. Therefore, according to this principle, Arvind Sawant has demanded that Shiv Sena should be allowed on Shivaji Park. Because Shiv Sena had first applied to hold Dussehra gathering at Shivaji Park. The Dussehra gathering takes place at Shivaji Park itself. Therefore, even though Eknath Shinde has got a seat in BKC, he insists that Dussehra gathering should be held at Shivaji Park itself. Therefore, this issue is going to be a matter of prestige for both the groups. The future politics of the state depends on who gets permission for the Dussehra gathering at Shivaji Park. Perhaps the direction of the state’s politics may change after this gathering, so the issue is considered important and prestigious for both the groups.
