Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Administration had taken initiative and it was claimed that the concerned road will be 45 meters wide. However, in some places only 30 meters wide road is available for the goers. Therefore, in this regard altogether 27 societies in this area submitted written complaints to municipal administration.

Sighting this issue, BJP City President Shankar Jagtap came forward and a meeting was held with the Vice President of Pimpri-Chinchwad Society Federation, Sachin Londhe and representatives along with Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh and officials of the concerned department in the Municipal Building. Former corporator Vinayak Gaikwad was present on this occasion.

Local society owners have raised objections regarding widening of Wakad-Dattamandir road. As per the development plan, this road is expected to be 45 meters wide. The widening of Wakad-Datta mandir Road in Municipal Ward No. 25 has not taken place as per the Development Plan. In some places, there are illegal constructions and those are protected by the administration. The width of the road at that place is up to 30 meters only. There are unauthorized constructions on both sides of the road decreasing the width of the road. That is the reason; the society owners of the area are demanding that the work of the said road should be done as per the plan approved in the development plan.

Meanwhile, BJP city president Shankar Jagtap and former corporator Vinayak Gaikwad took a positive initiative in this regard. A meeting was held with Municipal Commissioner and concerned officials and representatives of society holders in the presence of both of them. Also, it is demanded that whoever the farmers and the land owners have taken the compensation for the land; their land should be acquired by the municipal administration. It will gear up the work of the road. In this meeting, Commissioner Shekhar Singh has assured that the administration will take action regarding making 45 meters road as per the development plan and the process of acquiring land at some places will be started in a few days.

The objections raised by local society owners in the area of Wakad- Dutt Mandir Road regarding the widening of Dutt Mandir Road are valid. According to the development plan, the administration should make 45 meters of road available for citizens. The work of the road currently in progress should be inspected for this purpose. We have put this demand before the administration.
