Pimpri : A Janaushadi Stores was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Ms. Nirja Saraf, Hon’ble Managing Director, HAL, on Friday 26th January, 2024. The Jan Aushadhi Store is situated at the accessible venue of H.A. colony Main Gate.
The Janaushadhi Stores are opened under the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PM-BJP) launched by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemical & Fertilizers, Government of India in November, 2008, with the objective of making quality medicines available at affordable price to the masses All Over India.
HAL Janaushadhi Stores will provide quality prescription medicines and Drugs to All HA Employees and their family members at affordable prices. The Janaushadhi Stores throughout India are monitored by Pharmaceutical and Medical Bureau of India (PMBI) an apex body under the Department of Pharmaceuticals wherein 1800 Medicines of all category drugs and prescription medicines and 250 surgical items are made available to the masses. Tablets, Capsules, Protien Powder, Tonics, Ayurvedic Medicines and various ointments are made available through these Jan Aushadhi Stores. The cost of these medicines is less by 60% to 70% .
The main objective of Pradhan Mantri- Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PM-BJP) is as follows:
1. To ensure access to quality medicines for all sections of the population especially the poor and the deprived.
2. Create awareness about generic medicines through education and publicity to counter the perception that quality is synonymous with high price only.
The tagline of Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PM-BJP) is “Jan Aushadhi – Seva bhi, Rozgar bhi”.
The Jan Aushadhi Stores opened at the HA Colony Main Gate will serve the requirements of the HAL employees and their family members along with other citizens residing in the area.
