Good news: Waiting for 100 MLD water from Andhra Dam is over!

BJP spokesperson and former ruling party leader Eknath Pawar said that the first phase of the Andra-Bhama Askhed project, which is very important in terms of water supply in Pimpri-Chinchwad, has been completed and water supply will start in just 10 to 12 days after completion of technical matters.

BJP city president and MLA Mahesh Landage inspected the water purification project at Andhra, Bhama Askhed project at Chikhali. Former mayor Rahul Jadhav, Nitin Kalje, former ruling party leader Eknath Pawar, Kundan Gaikwad, Kisan Bawkar, Dinesh Yadav, former corporator Sadhana Malekar, Nilesh Newale, Jitendra Yadav were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, after inspecting the 100 MLD water purification project at Chikhali, MLA Landage held a meeting with Commissioner Rajesh Patil. The plan has been reviewed and instructions have been given to the administration.

At this time Rajesh Patil said that the work of water purification project set up at Chikhali to process 100 MLD of water from Andhra dam is in final stage. City dwellers will get water in 10 to 12 days.

Eknath Pawar said that water is supplied to Pimpri-Chinchwad from Pavana dam. Therefore, it was necessary to create other sources of water supply for the city besides the Pavana dam. The then BJP Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan took a positive decision. During the BJP rule in the Municipal Corporation, the project was approved to supply 100 MLD of water from Andhra Dam and 167 MLD of water from Bhama Askhed to Pimpri-Chinchwad. Covid and the lockdown resulted in difficulties for the administration in completing the project on time. The project is finally coming to an end, overcoming all difficulties. Therefore, it is expected that Pimpri-Chinchwadkar will now be self-sufficient in water.
