Shri Moraya Gosavi Maharaj Sanjivan Samadhi Festival from December 17th

The inauguration of the festival will be performed by RSS Chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat

Padma Vibhushan Dr. Raghunath Mashalkar to be honored with the Shri Moraya Gosavi Maharaj Life Glory Award.

Pimpri-Chinchwad | The Shri Moraya Gosavi Maharaj Sanjivan Samadhi Festival will be celebrated from December 17th to December 21st, 2024, in Chinchwad. The Chinchwad Devasthan Trust, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, and the villagers of Chinchwad have organized religious programs, classical and light music performances, lectures, health and blood donation camps, and various social welfare activities for this occasion. This year marks the 463rd year of the Sanjivan Samadhi Festival.

This information was shared at a press conference by Mandar Maharaj Dev, the Chief Trustee of the Trust, on Thursday. During the press conference, other trustees such as Advocate Rajendra Umape, Jitendra Dev, Keshav Vidwans, Advocate Deoraj Dakhale, former Mayor Aparna Doke, former Corporator Rajendra Gawde, Moreshwar Shedge, Ashwini Chinchwade, Suresh Bhoi, and others were present.

The grand opening of the festival and the unveiling of the 2025 calendar will be held by Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, the Chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), on December 17th at 5:30 PM. Other dignitaries such as Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Religious Affairs Assistant Commissioner Rajani Kheersagar, Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Chaubey, MP Shrirang Barne, Dr. Amol Kolhe, MLAs Shankar Jagtap, Mahesh Landge, Anna Bansode, Uma Khapre, Amit Gorkhe, Bapusahab Pathare, along with key officials from Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Sansthan Committee from Alandi, Sant Tukaram Maharaj Sansthan Committee from Dehu, Martand Malhari Sansthan from Jejuri, and Chinchwad Devasthan Trust will also be present.

From December 17th to December 21st, various programs will take place every day. At 6 AM, Nitin Daithankar will perform Sanai-Chogda music at the Shri Moraya Gosavi Maharaj Sanjivan Samadhi Temple, and at Shri Mangalmoorti Wada by Shri Tukaram Daithankar. At 8:30 AM, there will be a recitation of the Shri Moraya Gosavi Maharaj Charitra (life story), followed by the Lakshmi-Narayan Yag by Vedamurti Rabde Guruji from 9 AM to 12 PM. Blood donation, eye and dental health camps will be held from 9 AM to 6 PM.

On the evening of December 17th, the Sanjivan Samadhi Festival will be inaugurated at 5:30 PM, followed by a lecture by Aparnatai Kulkarni on “Swatantryaveer Savarkar” at 7:45 PM. At 8:30 PM, there will be a musical performance by Pandit Sanjeev Abhyankar on “Swarsanjivan”.

On December 18th, there will be a Maha Puja at 6:15 AM, a group recitation of Atharvashirsha at 7 AM, and a group Abhishek (ritual bath) at 9 AM. Eye and dental camps will be conducted from 9 AM to 4 PM. There will be bhajan services by local groups from 12 PM to 4 PM, followed by a kirtan by Sharadbua Ghag at 4 PM. In the evening, at 6 PM, a program titled “Majhya Morayacha Dharm Jago” (Wake up my Moraya’s Dharma) based on the verses written by Shri Moraya Gosavi Maharaj will be held, followed by a devotional music and Abhang (poetry) program by Pandit Jayteerth Mevundi and his team at 8:30 PM.

On December 19th, there will be a Maha Aarti (grand worship) at 6 AM, followed by Shri Sukta recitation at 9 AM. Eye and dental camps will be open from 9 AM to 4 PM. Bhajan services by local groups will be held from 12 PM to 4 PM, followed by a kirtan by Sharadbua Ghag at 4 PM. At 6 PM, Shri Avinash Dharmadhikari will deliver a lecture on “Tilak Parv” (Tilak Era), and at 8:30 PM, Bela Shende and her team will present a light music concert.

On December 20th, there will be a Soham Yoga session at 6 AM, and a health and blood donation camp from 9 AM to 5 PM. In the evening, from 6 to 8 PM, Dr. Raghunath Mashalkar, Padma Vibhushan awardee, will be presented with the Shri Moraya Gosavi Maharaj Life Glory Award by Panditpravar Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid and Chinchwad Devasthan Trust’s Trustee Board. At 8:30 PM, Pandit Shahid Parvez (Sitar), Pandit Rajas Upadhye (Violin), and Pandit Vijay Ghate (Tabla) will perform.

On December 21st, a grand Maha Puja of Shri Moraya Gosavi Maharaj’s Sanjivan Samadhi will be conducted at 4:30 AM by Mandar Maharaj Dev. At 6 AM, there will be Sanai-Chogda music, followed by a flower shower at the Sanjivan Samadhi Temple at 7 AM. This will be followed by a procession around the city. At 9:30 AM, there will be a kirtan by H.B.P. Purushottam Dada Patil, followed by a recitation of Shri Moraya Gosavi Maharaj’s Charitra. A Mahaprasad (community feast) will be held at 12 PM, and at 6 PM, there will be a formal tribute ceremony at the Shri Moraya Gosavi Maharaj Sanjivan Samadhi Temple. The festival will conclude with a grand fireworks display at 7 PM, followed by an evening prayer at Shri Mangalmoorti Wada.

The organizing committees have invited all Moraya devotees to attend and be part of this spiritual celebration.
