Mahadika’s re-struggle; Will it hit the field or will it be a hit?

Kolhapur: The BJP has declared Dhananjay Mahadik as the party’s third candidate for the Rajya Sabha and it is time for him to fight for victory once again. Since no victory has come easily since he entered politics, it is clear that the same history will be repeated about Mahadik.
Voting for six Rajya Sabha seats is taking place on June 10. Out of these five seats, Mahavikas Aghadi has three seats and BJP has enough strength to win two seats. So these candidates don’t care much. However, there are signs that the election for the sixth seat is in full swing. The Shiv Sena has hit an emotional six in politics by giving a chance to Kolhapur district chief Sanjay Pawar. Sanjay Pawar has the support of Mahavikas Aghadi. He will get the help of the remaining votes of Congress and NCP along with the votes of Sena. As a result, his side is strong at the moment.
BJP has fielded former MP and party’s West Maharashtra spokesperson Dhananjay Mahadik against Pawar. The party eased their victory by fielding Piyush Goyal and Anil Bonde at number one and two respectively. Mahadik was likely to get the nomination for the second number. Had that happened, their victory would have been easier. However, it is time for BJP to fight for the third seat.
Dhananjay Mahadik and the political struggle
Since entering politics, Mahadik has got nothing but struggle. He contested the first Lok Sabha election. In this election, which was contested against Sadashivrao Mandlik, he lost by 14,000 votes. However, the collision of a young man with a veteran leader in politics was a topic of discussion at that time. He then contested from Kolhapur South constituency. Incumbent Guardian Minister Satej Patil and the election held between him was a turning point in the state. Mahadik lost the by-elections. He then joined the NCP to contest the Lok Sabha elections once again. But he had to struggle to get the candidature. At that time, the party put the chain of candidature around Sambhaji Raje’s neck and his struggle ended at the level of candidature. Then in 2014, the NCP nominated Mahadik for the Lok Sabha. There was a Modi wave of BJP in the country then. In this wave, Mahadik had to fight hard for victory. He succeeded in this struggle and became an MP. In five years he made a good impression in his work. However, despite getting the candidature of NCP in the 2019 elections, they had to suffer a big defeat as they did not get the support of allies.
Against this backdrop, Mahadik is now contesting the Rajya Sabha elections. Here, too, they have to face the struggle once again. With the BJP fielding the third candidate instead of the first or second candidate, they will now have to face Sanjay Pawar of the Mahavikas Aghadi. Wrestling will be played between two wrestlers from Kolhapur. In this, now the independents will get a big price. At present, even though the Mahavikas front is heavy, the result will depend on the votes of independents. It is certain that the horse market will be colored in this election. Now Pawar along with Mahadik will have to fight for victory.
