Deputy CM Eknath Shinde Orders Immediate Cancellation of Charholi TP Scheme and Issuance of Notification!
Shiv Sainik Delegation Meets Deputy CM, Relief for Local Landowners and Farmers

Pimpri-Chinchwad: Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directed the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) administration to immediately cancel the proposed Town Planning (TP) Scheme in the Charholi area. He instructed that the administration should not merely make announcements but urgently place the cancellation proposal before the General Body, obtain approval for the resolution to cancel the TP Scheme, and issue an official notification without delay.
The PCMC had planned to implement the TP Scheme in Charholi, Chikhali, and several other villages in the city. However, this scheme was being imposed without consulting the local landowners and residents, leading to strong opposition. In this context, a delegation of Shiv Sena leaders, including Deputy Leader Sulabha Ubale and local Shiv Sena representative and advocate Kunal Maharaj Tapkir, met Deputy CM Eknath Shinde. They conveyed that the local landowners and farmers strongly oppose the new urban plan, demanding the cancellation of the TP Scheme.
During the meeting, Sulabha Ubale explained the background of the opposition, stating that even after MIDC, the New Town Development Authority, and PCMC limits expanded, farmers’ lands were taken for various reservations. Now, through the TP Scheme, farmers risk becoming landless. Therefore, there is widespread and firm opposition to the TP Scheme. She also pointed out that since a revised Development Plan (DP) for the entire city is being prepared, there is no need for the TP Scheme. The residents also expressed their sentiments against it.
Maintain a Consistent Approach
Considering the sentiments of the villagers, Shiv Sainiks, and the potential harm to local landowners, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde said that PCMC should avoid implementing new town planning schemes where they are unnecessary. He stressed the importance of a consistent approach in city development. Advocate Kunal Maharaj Tapkir welcomed the Deputy CM’s clarity on the matter, saying, “This has given us some relief.”
