Dive into the holy Godavari? Before that, read this shocking fact once

Nashik: A shocking fact has come to light during the inspection tour of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Ramesh Pawar on Wednesday (Jan. 1) that sewage pipes from 50 pipes have been discharged directly into the river basin. Commissioner Pawar has ordered to close these gutter pipes immediately and connect them to the underground gutters.

Commissioner Pawar has taken up the campaign of de-pollution of Godavari river. For this, Pawar inspected Ahilya Devi Holkar Bridge from Jalalpur, Govardhan Municipal Corporation by boat, foot and vehicle on Wednesday (Jan. 1). The Commissioner along with all the concerned officers of the Municipal Corporation had started the inspection tour from 7.30 am. During the inspection, it was observed that sewage pipes were released in the river at about 50 places. It was observed that 40 out of 50 pipes were dry and sewage from 10 pipes was mixing in the river. Therefore, Commissioner Pawar has instructed to take immediate measures.

Processed wastewater from Gangapur Sewage Treatment Plant will be reused for agriculture as well as for industrial purposes and for trees in gardens. For this, Commissioner Ramesh Pawar has given instructions to set up an alternative pumping station. During the inspection tour, City Engineer Shivkumar Vanjari, Superintendent Engineer Shivaji Chavanke, Fire Chief S. K. Bairagi, Executive Engineer Ganesh Maind, Deputy Engineer Nitin Rajput, Sanjay Adesara, Kanade of Smart City Department etc. were present.

Instructions of the Commissioner

– Shutting down of drainage water from rain gutters at Paricha Bagh

– Diversion of sewage from Landi Nala to 900 m diameter sewer of Smart City.

– Connecting the sewage at Salunkhe Classes to the sewer on the main road of Ramwadi

– Connection of sewage at Malhar Khan to the right side of Godavari river

– To divert sewage from both the sides of Chopda Nala Bridge to the sewage pumping station at the pumping station.

– From the old pumping station to the Rising Main passing over the bridge over Godavari river to Tapovan sewage treatment plant.

– Sewage near Asarambapu bridge, adjacent 24 m d. P. Laying a new drainage line along the road

– Repairing of MIDC and sewage water in Chikhali Nala, diversion chamber of nearby drainage channel and diverting it.

– Pouring the drainage water of Anandavali Nala and discharging it in the nearby drainage system.
