Sangli : A borewell truck and a small elephant Tempo collided head-on in a head-on collision on Thursday. Two were killed and one was seriously injured. The accident took place on Karad-Pandharpur highway at Vibhutwadi in Atpadi taluka. The deceased are from Korgaon in Satara district.

Two vehicles collided head-on on the Karad-Pandharpur highway at Vibhutewadi in Atpadi around 12 pm on Thursday. Two people were killed and one was seriously injured in the mishap. Ganesh Phadtare and Mahesh Phadtare will remain in Koregaon. District Satara is the name of the accident victims. The injured is Nishant Phadtare, Koregaon. The injured have been admitted to a private hospital in Satara for treatment. Phadtare has a shop called Shetkari Krishi Yantra. He had come to Atpadi area to deliver his literature. Meanwhile, after delivering the goods, the three had left their tempo and returned to Koregaon on the Pandharpur-Karad highway.
- Death while being taken for treatment
On his way to Vibhutewadi, his little elephant Tempo and a loaded borewell truck collided head-on on the bend near the bridge. After the accident, the villagers rushed the injured to the hospital for treatment in which Mahesh Phadtare died while being taken to Mayani for treatment. Ganesh Phadtare died while undergoing treatment at Atpadi Rural Hospital. The accident was so horrific that a borewell truck hit and overturned on the road. The front of the tempo was literally shattered.
