Big decision of ST Corporation giving priority to safety of passengers; Strict instructions given to drivers and carriers
Parbhani: The ST Corporation administration has taken important decisions giving priority to the safety of passengers. They will be given a car only after making sure that the driver is under the influence of alcohol to avoid serious incidents. Instructions in this regard have recently been issued to all the departmental controllers in the state by the General Manager of Transport of ST Corporation. Accordingly, the drivers will be suddenly checked. This decision of the corporation will help in reducing the number of accidents involving ST Corporation vehicles.
According to the ST Corporation’s rules of procedure, traffic controllers are required to ensure that drivers and carriers on their way to work are under the influence of alcohol. Only after such confirmation is it made mandatory to hand over the driver and the carrier at the bus stand. If the driver who is on duty is under the influence of alcohol, the traffic controller will have to inform the station head or the depot head. The driver will be medically examined and a complaint will be lodged with the police. Depot managers will be responsible for implementing this in all depots in the state.
Expedition to be carried out by inspection teams
The campaign will be carried out in all the departments of the state through road inspection teams, traffic inspectors, driving training and supervisors of safety and vigilance departments to check whether the driver has consumed alcohol in a confidential manner. Strict action should be taken in this regard if the driver is found to be intoxicated, such instructions have been given by the General Manager of Transport of ST Corporation to all the departmental controllers in the state. Therefore, strict action will be taken against the driver who consumes alcohol while on duty.
Action will be taken against Badar
If the driver or carrier is found to have consumed alcohol while on duty, the ST Corporation administration will take disciplinary action against them. The drunk driver-carrier will be shown the direct route home. The responsibility of informing the drivers about this has been entrusted to the Divisional Controller and Divisional Transport Officer.
