Pune: The number of corona patients in the state is increasing day by day. Experts from the state’s Covid Task Force have provided important information while concerns are being raised about the growing contagion of corona. The patients who are now being found in the city are those who have contracted coronary heart disease again. Also, patients infected with the third wave of coronavirus just last month are being re-infected with coronavirus. The third wave was dominated by the Omicron variant. Therefore, those who were infected with Omicron in the third wave are now infected with BA.4 and BA.5 again. In the state, 13 patients of BA.4 and BA.5 variants have been found. Experts also predict an increase in the number of patients due to these two subtypes. To date, 20% of patient samples have been sent for genome sequencing. BA.2.121.1 and BA.4 variants have been found. Many of the current samples are likely to have a higher percentage of these subvarients, he said. Immunity decreases six months after covid infection or vaccination. But this condition is more common in patients with mild or no symptoms. Experts say that many people who get mild colic during the third wave can be re-infected with coronavirus.
