Thunderstorms, scary rains, pre-monsoon rains plague Kolhapurites

Kolhapur: The pre-monsoon rains caused severe havoc in Kolhapur due to trembling winds and hailstorms. In the evening, rain lashed many places in the district and literally washed away. Many homes and shops were flooded. The trees fell. Electricity also fell in some places. Due to the rain, water started flowing from the roads in an instant. So public life came to a standstill. The rain was so heavy that it was like fog.

Although the arrival of monsoon in Kolhapur has been delayed till June 10, pre-monsoon showers have arrived from Wednesday (June 1) evening. The city was hit by heavy rains except for minor rains. However, on Thursday (June 2) evening, all this was done. At around 5 in the evening, Varun Raja arrived with strong winds. The thunder started. Heavy showers began to fall along with it. Immediately hail began to fall. The rain was so heavy that nothing could be seen from the front. Heavy rains along with thunderstorms lashed parts of the district including the city.

There was huge Ukada in the air all day. After four in the evening the clouds parted. It then rained with strong winds. The people of Kolhapur were terrified by the trembling wind and the hailstorm. Due to the presence of pre-monsoon rains, Ukada disappeared and sleet formed in the air. This made the people of Kolhapur happy. Strong winds uprooted trees in many places. The lightning caused damage in some places. Excessive rainfall in a short period of time caused water to seep into many houses and shops. Due to waterlogging on the road, traffic was stopped in some places. This important road was closed due to flooding under Parikh bridge. Roads were closed in some places due to uprooting of trees. The rain that fell for an hour made people tremble. The rains lashed most parts of the district, including Ajra Chandgad Gadinglaj.
