Sangli: The crime rate has risen sharply in recent days. A shocking type of this has come to the fore in Sangli. It has been revealed that a lover strangled and killed his wife due to an immoral relationship. This has created a stir in the area and police are investigating. According to sources, the deceased was identified as Tai Sachin Nikam. A case has been registered against her boyfriend Rahul Sarjerao Pawar and he has been arrested by Kadegaon police. According to further information, the body of a woman was found near the bridge in Yerla river basin within the limits of Bhikwadi Khurd village. Further inquiries have revealed that Priyakar had committed murder.
After identifying the body, the police started interrogation of the deceased woman’s husband and relatives. At the time, Tai was living in a rented house in Vita and used to make bread and chapati in the hotel. During further investigation, Rahul Pawar, the owner of a jeweler, had an affair with Tai Nikam. The two used to have similar phone calls. When Rahul Sarjerao Pawar was arrested and interrogated, he said that he had been in a love affair with Tai Sachin Nikam for about a year and a half.
Tai had come to Rahul’s shop on May 3. She had asked Rahul for a one gram gold ring for her birthday. However, Rahul refused. Rahul said that he had promised to tell his father about the love affair as he had not given the ring. After this, on May 5, Rahul Pawar and Tai had an argument. After threatening to tell his father about the love affair, he strangled Tai Nikam in the car and killed her. Rahul said that her body was then dumped from the vehicle into the Yerla river basin at Bhikwadi Khurd village boundary. He has been arrested by the police and further investigation is underway.
