Subramanian Swamy to vacate government residence within 6 weeks, Delhi High Court orders

Subramanian Swamy, who is one of the legendary leaders of Indian politics, has received a major blow from the Delhi High Court on Wednesday. They will have to vacate the government residence in Delhi within six weeks. Delhi High Court has given this order. During the hearing, the High Court directed Subramanian Swamy to ensure that the possession of his official bungalow is handed over to the Estates Officer within 6 weeks. When the term of the Rajya Sabha ended in April 2022, Subramanian Swamy had filed a petition for reallocation of the bungalow in the wake of security threats. At the same time, the central government opposed Swamy’s plea, arguing that the bungalow needed to be given to other ministers and MPs.

The bungalow was given for 5 years –
The Delhi High Court has directed former BJP Rajya Sabha member Subramanian Swamy to hand over the possession of the government bungalow to the Estates Officer within 6 weeks. In January 2016, the central government gave Swamy a bungalow in Delhi for 5 years due to the perception that his life was in danger. At the same time, after the Rajya Sabha term ends in April 2022, he had sought the Delhi High Court’s re-allocation of the bungalow, citing security. However, now it has to be vacated within 6 weeks. Subramanian Swamy is one of the veteran politicians of the country. He is one of the fiercest critics of Congress.
