When it came to light that Vedanta Foxconn is setting up a $20 billion project in Gujarat instead of Maharashtra, NCP State Chief Spokesman Mahesh Cheche has directly questioned whether Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is serving the interests of Maharashtra or Gujarat. The previous Mahavikas Aghadi Government of Maharashtra had initiated proper communication and discussion with Vedanta Foxconn for investment in Maharashtra State and the location of Talegaon was decided. The Mahavikas Aghadi Government had given top priority to Vedanta Foxconn with the aim of creating massive employment opportunities for the local youth. The chain of many small entrepreneurs who were waiting for a business opportunity with Vedanta Foxconn has now been completely disrupted, said Mahesh Cheghe.

It is a shame that the newly formed ED government has not been able to retain Vedanta Foxconn in Maharashtra and shows the apathetic attitude of Chief Minister Shinde towards the development of the state. Mahesh Chekhe also directly accused that they have fallen prey to Gujarat and have caused financial loss to Maharashtra and employment of lakhs of aspiring youths. Stating that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is busy supporting his rebellion to the people of Maharashtra and he is not talking about development issues like employment and industrialization, Mahesh Chekhe has also demanded that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde should explain to the people of Maharashtra about the employment of youth.
