Shocking! 1-month-old Chimukali victim killed in husband-wife dispute

Jalgaon Bhadgaon: A shocking incident took place on Saturday, June 18 in Bhadgaon when a husband threw his one-month-old daughter into a well and tried to commit suicide. The suspect father was rescued by the citizens by pulling him out of the well. However, his one-month-old daughter died in the incident. The suspect’s father was admitted for treatment but he also passed out from the hospital during treatment. The fugitive father was handcuffed by the local crime branch on Sunday. The name of the arrested suspect is Jitendra (Nana) Janglu Thackeray.

Khanderao Maharaj had a religious program at the temple at Kakanbardi in Pachora taluka. Jitendra Thackeray had gone for the event on June 18 with his wife, mother-in-law and father-in-law. After the program was over, everyone returned to their home in Bhadgaon. Meanwhile, Jitendra had an argument with his wife and in-laws. In the evening, Jitendra fled with his one-month-old daughter towards the field. He then threw the Chimukali into a well in a field and tried to commit suicide by jumping into the well himself. People chasing Jitendra pulled Jitendra out of the well safely. However, the one-month-old Chimkuli died in it.

  • The suspect’s father had escaped from the hospital during treatment

Jitendra was admitted to a rural hospital in Bhadgaon for treatment. A case of murder was registered against Jitendra on the complaint of Jitendra’s wife Savita Nana Thackeray (Bhil) (age 20, resident of Karab, Bhadgaon) on Sunday. Jitendra passed out from the hospital during treatment. Taking serious note of the incident, Superintendent of Police Dr. Praveen Mundhe, Additional Superintendent of Police Ramesh Chopde had instructed the local crime branch to search for the suspect Jitendra Thackeray and arrest him.

  • Fugitive father arrested by local crime branch

Local crime branch police inspector Kiran Kumar Bakale received confidential information that the fugitive suspect Jitendra Thackeray had arrived at Pachora on Sunday. A team comprising local crime branch sub-inspector Amol Devdhe, police chief constable Laxman Patil, police constable Kishore Rathore, Ranji Jadhav, police constable Vinod Patil and Ishwar Patil arrested him on Sunday. He has been handed over to Bhadgaon police for further action. Sub-Inspector of Police Ganesh Waghmare is conducting further investigation. Meanwhile, Chimukali has been killed in an argument between husband and wife and the incident has caused a stir in the village.
