Satyamev Jayate: Controversial notice of Tata Motors Company finally cancelled!

The fight of former BJP corporator Vikas Dolas was successful
Demand for action against the then officer Smita Zagde

Pimpri: The administration has finally canceled the controversial notice issued by the Municipal Tax Collection Department on Tata Motors Company, which is the capital of the industrial city of Pimpri-Chinchwad. The fight of former BJP corporator Vikas Dolas has been successful and it has been demanded that action should be taken against the then official Smita Zagde.
Smita Zagde, the then officer of the Municipal Tax Collection Department, had sent a notice of Rs 259 crore citing the collection of income without registration. Actually, by sending a notice to this company, which has a turnover of thousands of crores of rupees, the administration had played a kind of stunt. BJP corporator Vikas Dolas and his colleagues in the then ruling party raised their voice against this. Demonstrations were held in the Municipal General Assembly. However, the administration maintained its stance.
Pimpri-Chinchwad was a village. Since then the company Tata Motors has been operating in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Now the city of Pimpri-Chinchwad is famous not only in the country but also in the world as an industrial city. Maharashtra State was formed in 1960 and Yashwantrao Chavan Saheb established Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation. At the same time, he started building an industry in Maharashtra.
At present, there are about 12 to 15 thousand small and big industries running in the municipal area. Almost 60 percent of these industries are dependent on Tata Motors. Lakhs of workers are working in these small and medium industries. About 20 thousand workers are currently working in Tata Motors as well.
Vikas Dolas said that Tata Motors CEO Ratan Tata has a place of respect in the industry. Be it the covid epidemic or any other kind of crisis befalls the country of India or the state of Maharashtra, the first aid is provided by the Tata Company to the Government of India or the Government of Maharashtra. The officials of the tax collection department were not aware of this. It is not befitting of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to publicize the action taken only for self-aggrandizement and hype it through the media. We demanded that the notice should be canceled immediately by taking appropriate action against the concerned officials of the tax collection department who sent this notice after proper investigation. He has now succeeded.
The telco company has been operating in the city since 1966. Taxation is expected for additions and new construction. However, once tax has been levied on the earlier construction, re-taxation will not be appropriate. The concerned notice was not technically correct, observed the administration. After the change of power in the state, did the role of the administration also change? Such a question has been raised on this occasion.
Bring Smita Jagde back into state service…
Actually, there was an attempt to defame the city during the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. The officials concerned were working under political pressure. Therefore, Tata Motors and Padmashri Girish Prabhune’s connivance with Purrutthan Gurukulam was followed by action notices. It was only for political reasons that a position was taken to take over the institutions which were the ornaments of the city. Therefore, the controversial officer Smita Zagde should be taken back to the service of the state government. For this, we are going to demand from BJP’s city president and MLA Mahesh Landge. Former corporator Vikas Dolas also said that a complaint will be filed with the state government.
The notice did not deal with technical issues…
After checking all the technical aspects, physical inspection of the site, the first notice was canceled and after discussion with the company officials, a revised notice was issued. Nilesh Deshmukh, Assistant Commissioner of Tax Collection, informed that the amended notice has been accepted by the Tata Group of Industries.
