Sale of Chakka Desi liquor from grocery store, strange type in Hingoli

Hingoli: Akhada Balapur police have raided a grocery shop at Redgaon in Kalamanuri taluka of Hingoli district and seized bottles of liquor. A case has been registered against one person at Akhada Balapur police station on Wednesday evening. This performance of the police has cast doubt on the functioning of the state excise department.

Illegal sale of native liquor

In Hingoli district, illegal liquor vendors are rampant and illegal desi liquor is being sold openly in rural areas. Along with this, the sale of desi liquor has also started from the dhabas and hotels along the main road in the district. Fed up with the hassle of selling liquor in rural areas, women from many villages have demanded an end to the sale of liquor. However, every time the police department is held responsible for this, the state excise department has turned a blind eye.

Police raid shop

Meanwhile, police had received information that desi liquor was being sold from a grocery shop at Redgaon in Kalamanuri taluka. A team of Assistant Inspector of Police Pandharinath Bodhanapod, Sub-Inspector Shivaji Bondle, Jamadar Sheikh Babar and Sheikh Gausoddin raided the grocery store on Wednesday (June 1) afternoon.

A search of the shop turned up about 20 bottles of local liquor. Police have seized bottles of liquor and a case has been registered against shopkeeper Dayanand Hanwate at Akhada Balapur police station.
