To bring uniformity and coherence in the school period in the entire state, summer vacation will be applicable to primary, secondary and higher secondary schools in the state from May 2 and the government has decided to start school on Monday (June 13) in the academic year 2022-23.

Summer vacation of 2022 and decision to start school in the coming academic year 2022-23 was under consideration at the government level. Accordingly, the government has issued a circular in this regard.

According to the decision, summer vacation will be implemented from Monday (May 2). This holiday period will be considered till Sunday (June 12, 2022) and in the year 2022-23, schools will start on the second Monday (June 13, 2022) of the next academic year. Also, considering the temperature of Vidarbha in the month of June, after the summer vacation, the schools there will start on the fourth Monday (June 27, 2022).

The results of class I to IX and XI can be taken on or after April 30, 2022 during the vacation period. However, it is the responsibility of the school concerned to communicate the results to the students or parents.

This can be done with the permission of the concerned District Education Officer (Primary / Secondary) on the occasion of festivals like Ganeshotsav or Christmas, instead of reducing the long summer and Diwali holidays from schools. However, care should be taken to ensure that the total number of holidays in the academic year does not exceed 76 days as per the Secondary School Code.

From the next academic year onwards, all primary, secondary and higher secondary schools in the state will be on the second Monday of the month of June (the day after if it is a public holiday) and the fourth Monday of June (the day after if it is a public holiday) considering the temperature in Vidarbha. The circular also clarified that schools will be started.
