Meteorological department alerts several states, including Maharashtra, about heat and rain in the country

IMD Weather Updates: With the arrival of monsoon in the country, every state is waiting for rains. The heat wave is intensifying in some parts of the state, while torrential rains have lashed some states. In the month of June, maximum temperature is above 40 degrees Celsius in Maharashtra, Delhi and many states in North India. Meanwhile, states in Maharashtra, Vidarbha and northern India are not likely to get any relief from the heat for the next few days, the meteorological department said. At the same time, many states are experiencing rising temperatures.

  • Heat wave in states

The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at around 27 degrees Celsius and the maximum at 42 degrees Celsius. So, strong winds are expected in Delhi today. The heat wave will continue in Uttar Pradesh as well. The minimum temperature in Lucknow, the capital of UP, could be 27 degrees and maximum 43 degrees. In Maharashtra, the meteorological department has also forecast heat waves in some parts of Vidarbha.

  • Chance of rain in ‘these’ states

According to the meteorological department, torrential rains are expected in southern Karnataka for the next five days. Rains are expected in Tamil Nadu on June 6 and 7. It will also rain in Kerala and Mahe on June 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. After Kerala, monsoon rains are falling in West Bengal. At the same time, Assam and Karnataka in northeast India also receive light to moderate monsoon rains.

Monsoon is expected to arrive in Mumbai soon. According to the meteorological department, the arrival date of monsoon in Mumbai has been given as June 10. Monsoon is expected in some parts of Konkan, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada. However, heat wave is expected in Vidarbha for the next two days.
