Legislative Council elections: BJP MLA Laxman Jagtap leaves for Mumbai by ambulance

Pimpri: Despite being ill, BJP MLA from Chinchwad Assembly Laxman Jagtap has left today (Monday 20) to participate in the voting process of the Legislative Council. He left his residence at Pimple Gurav at 10.40 am in an ambulance and left for Mumbai. MLA Jagtap had also participated in the Rajya Sabha elections and exercised his right to vote.

MLA Jagtap’s brother, former corporator Shankar Jagtap, said that Chandrakant Patil and Devendra Fadnavis approached Laxman Jagtap. He said, “Laxmanbhau, you have done a great job in the Rajya Sabha. Even if you don’t come tomorrow, it will work. Nature is important. You should rest.” On this Laxman Jagtap said that the party needs me and I can travel. He has also decided to participate in the elections.

The political atmosphere is heating up on the backdrop of the Legislative Council elections to be held on Monday, June 20. Shiv Sena, BJP, Congress and NCP are all gearing up for today’s elections. 11 candidates are in the fray for 10 seats in the Legislative Council elections. As the Congress did not withdraw the second candidate, the BJP is facing off against the Mahavikas Aghadi. BJP has fielded five candidates in the Legislative Council while Mahavikas Aghadi has fielded six candidates. However, both the parties do not have enough manpower to win the additional candidate.
