‘LPJ Innovation Awards-2024’ : A new platform for the creativity of students in Pimpri-Chinchwad

Pimpri : People’s leader Laxmanbhau Jagtap had outlined his concept of ‘Developed Pimpri-Chinchwad’ and how the city should be! The Laxmanbhau Jagtap Kala and Sports Academy has announced ‘LPJ Innovation Awards-2024′ with the aim to involve the future generation in realizing the same ideal city of their dreams and to give a platform to the creativity of this new generation of students.

BJP city president Shankar Jagtap has organized a ground-breaking competition which is designed to give scope to students’ creativity. School students along with the students taking higher education can participate. Considering the structure of the topics in the competition, the concepts coming out through the same will surely contribute to sustainable development of the city.

The competition will be held in three categories. Sub-junior category for students of 7th to 9th class, junior category for students of 10th to 12th class and senior category for students pursuing graduation and post-graduation. Although the competition is for students, on this occasion, the concepts in the minds of parents and teachers can certainly be presented through the students. In a sense, the citizens of the entire city will get an opportunity to present the best concept to make their dream city a reality. this competition. Notably, the winners of the competition will be awarded individual and team prizes totaling Rs 7 lakh.

Registration for the competition starts on 5th December 2023, the last date of registration will be 3rd January 2024. Evaluation of the said concepts by expert examiners will be held on 20th January 2024 and the final round of the competition will be held on 15 February 2024. All concepts presented in the competition will be given a certificate of participation. Ward-wise best concepts will be selected for the competition and necessary support will be provided to implement the best concepts that will help the development of the city and to get the ‘patent’ of this concept to the contestant.

1- Sustainable Smart City: It includes sub-themes of waste management, urban mobility, traffic, infrastructure, disaster preparedness, water management and conservation, public utilities and accessibility of services, inclusive service delivery (all sectors/gender). 2- Digitalization : Apps and Platforms, ICT (Information Communication and Technology), e-Governance, e-Citizen Service Delivery, Grievance Redressal, IMC Website, PCMC/Sarathi App are the sub-topics. 3- Environment: Pollution Control, Energy and Resources, Green Belts are subtopics for this. 4- Revenue : It has sub-topics like revenue source, cost, optimization. 5- Urban Health and Wellness: It has sub-themes of accessibility to healthcare, sanitation, mental health, mindfulness. 6- Culture and Heritage: Preservation and conservation of cultural heritage sites are sub-topics.

The city of Pimpri-Chinchwad, reputed as an industrial city, should be known as a city of great concepts and creativity in the future. ‘LPJ Innovation Awards-2024’ has been announced aiming at this goal. Students from all the schools and colleges of the city should participate in this competition in large numbers.
