In Wakad, the opposition attempts to claim credit for development works funded by the MLA: Shankar Jagtap

Mission Assembly: The development of Wakad, which was stalled due to the Mahavikas Aghadi candidate, has gained momentum thanks to the late MLA Laxman Jagtap!

Chinchwad: The local candidate from Wakad contesting the Chinchwad assembly elections has done nothing for the development of Wakad village. On the contrary, their actions had hindered development work in the village for many years. However, due to the development initiatives undertaken by the late MLA Laxman Jagtap and MLA Ashwini Jagtap, the village has transformed. To ensure the continuous development of the village, the residents expressed their unwavering support for the Mahayuti candidate, Shankar Jagtap, stating that only the formalities for his victory remain.

Shankar Jagtap, the official candidate of the BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP-RPI (Athawale) and allied parties from the Chinchwad assembly constituency, visited various localities and societies in Wakad today, meeting with local residents and extending Diwali greetings.

During this village visit, Shankar Jagtap engaged with citizens through a padyatra (foot march). Accepting Diwali wishes from the residents, he inquired about their well-being and communicated with them. The residents of Wakad warmly welcomed Jagtap, stating, “All the credit for the development seen in Wakad today goes to the late Laxman Bhau Jagtap. Therefore, we, the residents, are with Shankar Jagtap for the future development of Wakad.”

Meanwhile, Shankar Jagtap has gained a significant lead in the campaign for the Chinchwad assembly constituency, receiving tremendous support from citizens across all social strata. Notably, women have also actively participated in this padyatra.

Opponents in Wakad claim that no development work has occurred in the area. However, they attempt to usurp credit for the crores of rupees worth of development works funded by the late MLA Laxman Bhau Jagtap and MLA Ashwini Jagtap. These funded works include the construction of cultural halls, yoga halls, open gyms at various locations, traffic islands, e-toilets for men and women, community centers, solar systems in various societies, grid solar power plants, rooftop installations, interlocking blocks on government land, asphalting and concreting of internal roads, drainage lines, and wastewater lines, amounting to approximately 3 to 3.5 crore rupees. Despite this, the opposition continues to claim that no work has been done in the constituency. This clearly demonstrates the opposition’s lack of attention to our area. These unfounded accusations are merely an attempt to cover up their own inaction. However, the people of Wakad are discerning and will vote in favor of development works, not fall prey to false promises.
