The Mahavikas Aghadi government led by the then Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had also reversed many decisions of the previous BJP government. Many plans were canceled. What’s more, he had also started an inquiry. One such scheme is the Jalayukta Shivar Yojana. The decision to bring back the scheme was taken at the first meeting of the new government. The decision was taken in the first meeting held in the presence of both Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis before the entire cabinet came into existence.
This was an ambitious plan conceived by Fadnavis. He had handed over the account to his trusted colleague Ram Shinde, the then minister in Nagar district. However, as soon as the government changed, the new government canceled it and started an inquiry. The reason given by the CAG for this plan was Tashree. There were allegations of gross misconduct. An inquiry committee was appointed for this. The committee also went to various places and conducted inquiries. In some districts, including the city, cases have been registered against the officials.

Now, after Fadnavis was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister yesterday, in the first meeting, it has been decided to give impetus to this scheme again. Therefore, there are signs that some other schemes, including this one, will be resumed and the schemes of Thackeray’s time will be canceled or his inquiry will start.
